Dr. Kunal A Shah is a Joint Replacement surgeon practicing in Mumbai since 2015. He has a special interest in the treatment of Knee, Hip, and Shoulder arthritis problems and all kinds of trauma cases including fractures and dislocations.
He has completed his post-graduation M.S Orthopedics from the prestigious KEM hospital, Mumbai.
He also completed DNB in Orthopaedics. During this tenure, he was extensively trained in Knee, Hip, and Shoulder joint replacement surgeries in the Department of Orthopedics (KEM hospital) which is one of the largest Orthopedic departments in Asia. After completing post-graduation, he continued practicing as a Joint replacement surgeon for 5 years at KEM hospital.
Dr. Kunal is specially trained in Computer-assisted (Navigation) and Minimally Invasive Total Knee Replacement surgery under many senior joint replacement surgeons in Mumbai. Minimally invasive surgery involves a smaller incision (fewer stitches) and negligible injury to muscles allowing us to make the patients walk early and pain-free after surgery. He has successfully performed more than 300 Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement surgeries each with excellent surgical outcome.
Dr. Kunal is also trained in performing Partial Knee Replacement (UKR) which involves the replacement of the affected inner part of the knee without cutting ligaments or bone, allowing patients to even sit on the floor after surgery.
Dr. Kunal is keen towards research and recent advances in Joint Replacement and Trauma surgeries. He has more than 30 research publications in international and national research journals
